Wycliffe College Announces New Windsor Resource

On Friday, February 23, Reverend Dr. George Sumner, Principal of Wycliffe College, Toronto School of Theology, announced plans for the development of a new teaching resource called the Windsor Forum.
In an interview, Dr. Sumner stated that the new resource, which will be a joint project of both Wycliffe and St. Paul's Anglican Church, Bloor Street, is intended for the church at large and would include both a website and also a DVD that can be used by both individuals and groups. Dr. Sumner noted that while a website is now often the best way to reach many people, the project planners also wanted to provide something flexible for church groups to use. He added, “We'd like this to be a gift to the church at large to promote theological awareness and to promote the coherence of the church and to help the church at this particular moment in its history.”
Dr. Sumner noted that the recent Primates' meeting in Tanzania at Dar es Salaam is the most recent step in an ongoing process related to the Windor Report and that for Canadians the St. Michael Report is obviously another important document. He added, “One of our goals in creating a website resource for the church at large is to raise awareness of both the Windsor Report for international Anglicans and the St. Michael report, so that an event like Dar es Salaam can be seen in light of the ongoing story of the Windsor process. We want to produce a resource that is not only of interest to people who are afficionados of the international Anglican scene today but also is of use to lay people...[one] that has summaries that give lay people a quick and useful picture of why these documents matter and also provides a chance for them to ask questions and interact and have access to other resources, other articles.”
Dr. Sumner said that the plan is to have the project completed sometime in the spring.
