The Federation is committed to a long-term mission to help -
a) to recover the foundational principles of Anglican Christianity in Canada, as outlined in The Solemn Declaration of 1893, to work for their reinstatement in the life of the Anglican Church of Canada, and to help co-ordinate the efforts of Anglicans who are determined to remain faithful to an orthodox teaching of the truth of the Gospel.
b) to pray and labour for the repentance of the ACC and to use our best efforts to prevent the turning away of Canadian Anglicans from their church, or a walking apart (see the Windsor Report, section 157) from the global Communion by the ACC.
c) to be a voice for its members, particularly to the national church up to and at General Synod 2010.
Our immediate and long-range goals are -
i) To promote understanding, of and compliance with, the principles and recommendations of the Windsor Report as the working basis for the restoration of full communion status between the Anglican Church of Canada and the global Communion.
ii) To coordinate the work of presenting a strong voice and presence at General Synod 2007 by gathering resources, mobilizing diocesan planning and study groups, assigning task groups and developing instructive materials for the help and guidance of General Synod delegates.
iii) To develop print and electronic materials such as conference DVD's, lectures, reports and teaching packages designed to foster members' awareness and understanding of developments in their diocese, the National church and global Anglicanism and the implications in the context of scripture.
iv) To assist in the work of establishing and supporting the local Essentials Chapters which are being formed to provide identity, mutual support and training to Anglicans determined to remain within the Communion. The Chapters will welcome and serve members of both the Federation and the Network.
v) To develop programs of education designed to provide Canadian Anglicans with a working knowledge of the foundations of their faith and of the Anglican Christian tradition. |
